Goodwill of Greater Washington "Let's Get To Work" Networking Social tonight at El Centro

    Last updated 2 months ago

Goodwill Happy Hour is tonight at El Centro!

The Challenge: For many low-income individuals in the Greater Washington community, the hardest part about getting to work is…getting to work. The high cost of public transportation can be a significant barrier for many of our job training program graduates.

The Solution: YOU! Join us for the “Let’s Get to Work!” Networking Social hosted by Goodwill of Greater Washington’s Young Professionals Council. A recommended $10 donation will help Goodwill purchase a SmarTrip card for a job training program graduate and help achieve Impact 2013 job placement goals.

    Details:

    5pm - 7pm

    El Centro

    1819 14th St NW

    Washington DC 20009

How to Plan Events accommodating Passover Food Restrictions

    Last updated 3 months ago

Planning a corporate breakfast or lunch during the Passover holiday?

Please keep in mind your religious guests and remember to provide “Kosher for Passover” food options.

Reminder: No “leavened” bread. What does leavened mean? Look at this link for a quick Passover run-down: Passover Holiday

    For Breakfast:

    • Include Matzah on the menu. Yummy sides are butter, cream cheese and jelly.

    Lunch:

    • Stay away from sandwiches. Good alternatives: Entrée Salads or Hot Entrees. Make sure the hot entrée you select does not include any breading

    Dessert:

    • **Macaroons. Chocolate or Coconut are all satisfying sweets.

    **Bonus: At home snacks:

    • Geppetto favorite: Matzah, mayo, avocado and salt. Delish.
    • For the kids: Matzah Pizza! Matzah, Pizza Sauce and Shredded Cheese. Kids love it.
